I have a private teaching studio with my wife williamsonstudio.co.uk and for us, teaching is a hugely important a part of our careers. We give regular singing lessons to amateurs and professionals (all voice types) at The Music Studios (Marylebone) and in St Albans. I also teach the choristers at Temple Church, London.

Methodology

My teaching methods are scientifically informed, but without too much jargon (unless you're interested!). I use effective physical and psychological exercises in order to develop efficient vocal habits. I have attended the following courses:

Semi Professional / Professional Singers

I teach the choral scholars at Sloane Square Choral Society and have helped many pupils successfully audition for Music College postgraduate courses. I am very familiar with the technical difficulties that arise from choral singing, and have spent many years understanding and correcting them, to allow the voice full freedom and expression. I follow a scientific model of singing, but without complicated technical descriptions. I use simple language, clear concepts and effective exercises. Conservertoire Audition Preparation Studio (CAPS)
 
Paula and I run monthly masterclasses, usually on the first Saturday of each month, 2-5pm. It is an opportunity for singers to work on their performance skills and audition technique. These are particularly suited to people applying to music college. Each person has 30mins to sing one or two pieces, and everyone is included when not singing. There is a pianist and singing is optionally filmed for individual use. The cost is around £70.
